Every image is a precise moment of the unfolding of our lives. This is the curious nature of photography - capturing a moment, and releasing it again into the chaos that is this life.
Many of these images were made in a self portrait study of my middle life experience.
Black & White
I see in black and white most of the time. It simplifies the information and fine tunes it.
Kallitype, Albumen, Cyanotype, Platinum, VanDyke - old processes that treat the image on a visceral level.
A flophouse in Portland gets a make-over, but the old ghosts remain.
Land of ice and fire - an inward journey around the island with my son.
Things that are gracefully and gradually falling apart.
Seeing the everyday happenings that always surround us.
A land of joyful people and light.
A land of beauty and a cacophony of color and sound.
