Domestic Life

My interest in the domestic still life for this series of photographs has partly occurred since my elderly mother moved in with our family.  Stricken with Alzheimer’s Disease, she lives in the precise moment, which is all her mind allows anymore. Five minutes ago has faded and the present is fleeting, yet vivid. My mother notices patterns and light just like a skilled photographer.

Her vision has helped me simplify and appreciate the very small world that my mother experiences.
